How We Rank South African Online Casinos

Every card on the board shows the same set of published terms, so you can compare the offers yourself. This is what we look at and what we leave out.

What we check on every offer

  • The offer itself: the match percentage, the cap, and any free spins, taken from the operator’s current listing.
  • Wagering: how many times the bonus has to be played through before it can be withdrawn. Where the listing does not state it, the card says so.
  • Minimum deposit: what it costs to trigger the offer.
  • Bonus code: whether one is needed, and which.
  • Currency: whether the offer is priced in rand or in another currency your bank will convert.
  • Licensing: whether the operator is licensed in South Africa or offshore, which decides where a dispute would go.

What counts against an offer

Heavy wagering, above all. A large match at 50x is a worse route to withdrawable money than a small one at 10x, and a free spins offer with no wagering beats a bigger one with heavy terms. We also note offers priced in euros, minimum deposits well above the local norm, and codes that look seasonal.

How the order is set

The board order reflects our commercial arrangements with operators as well as their offers. We say that openly on the about page, and it is why we show the terms on every card rather than asking you to trust a position or a score.

What we deliberately leave out

We publish no star rating or score out of ten. A number like that needs data behind it, and a score with nothing under it exists to look authoritative rather than to inform. The space on each card goes to the minimum deposit instead, which is a real published term.

We also do not claim to have timed withdrawals or played through bonuses at these sites. Where we describe how something works, such as FICA checks or payment methods, it is general guidance, and the operator’s own terms always take precedence.

How often it is updated

Offers are re-checked against each operator's published terms at every update, and the date at the top of the homepage shows when that last happened. If a figure here does not match what you see, tell us.
